Jennifer Brady - And Then There Were None

An elderly woman, Jennifer Brady was smothered to death by her butler, Thomas Rogers, after she bequeathed to both him and his wife, Ethel, a small inheritance in her will.

Her death was ruled an accident.

Years later, Brady was posthumously avenged when Lawrence Wargrave, under the alias U.N. Owen, lured the Rogers to Soldier Island, where Thomas was tormented and killed by the former judge.

Landor's Mother - And Then There Were None

The mother of James Landor was denied the chance to see her son’s body or say goodbye after he was murdered in a homophobic hate crime by William Henry Blore while in police custody.

Authorities lied to her about the cause of his death, telling her that James had died choking on his own vomit after a night of heavy drinking.

James Landor - And Then There Were None

A young gay man living in the UK, James Stephen Landor was arrested in 1928 by William Henry Blore while at a local bar.

While in custody, Blore pretended to be sympathetic, assuring that he would be released with a warning and advising him to be more discreet, claiming other officers would be less forgiving about his sexuality.

As James thanked him, Blore dropped the act and brutally beat him to death.

Blore covered up the murder by claiming he was drunk and choked on his own vomit. Rampant homophobia and corruption within the force ensured no one questioned the story. Landor’s mother was denied the chance to see his body and say her final goodbye.

Years later, Landor was posthumously avenged when Lawrence Wargrave, under the alias U.N. Owen, lured Blore to Soldier Island, where Blore was tormented and killed by the former judge.
