So I finished work.
Last day of the year.
Got three weeks off. Or is it two? I don't know. Whatever it is, it's welcome. Means one thing less to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I love my work, but the break is a welcome one. Means I can focus on other things.
We set a date for the party. The wedding that’s a wedding in everything but name. It's in June. June 20th. Week before Edinburgh Pride. Think that's a nice way of celebrating the month. We're going to book out the Dominion. A little cinema. You can do that. My mate did it for The Five Doctors. It's called that. Though it's argued that, given how little Tom Baker is actually in it, it should be 4. That is also where "Not the Mind Probe!!!" comes from. It's funny how these little details stick out.
We're going to watch The Impossible Planet and Satan's Pit. Tom's favourites.
Has beautiful music. And the... Don't Look scene. Don't Look. Don't turn around. One look and I can kill you.
Such a good scene. When I was a wee nipper, that had me quaking behind my sofa. Couldn't sleep for a week. Fortunately, my name's not Toby. We don't have a Toby in our System. Funnily enough, it is one of the few names that we don't use. Ha. Sorry. That's our little joke.
We’re thinking of doing music and games too. What games, you may ask? For it is not the traditional kind of game. Games like pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs or even sardines.
We’ll have a nice few rounds of Blood on the Clocktower. That old favourite of ours. Scarlett women, demons, drunks and dreamers. And us, the humble storytellers and keepers of the grimoire, all to the backdrop of some bard chords. They have some amazing covers. Pink Pony Club. Umbrella. So on.
But we still have many more months of planning. Of logistics. Of invites.
One thing is for certain, though, we’re going to have a merry little Christmas time.
