I had another period.
I can't believe I have been on oestrogen for 3 years without knowing this.
There was no mention during meetings with the gender clinic.
And no explanation. No nothing.
It came up quite naturally in conversation with a friend. A fellow non-binary person, who just happened to have their first period as well. And quite honestly, the chat was illuminating. So very, very illuminating.
Especially given more unexplained periods of illness. Cramps. Nausea. Appetite fluctuations. Libido fluctuations. Sore breasts, which are developing, as to be anticipated.
What does this mean?
For us?
Nothing. Business as usual. But now, we know our body that little bit better.
And, with practice, can track my cycle.
Just as we had done with our 2nd puberty.
Maybe this is TMI to some. But this is my body, and if it can help others, then it is my duty… no, my honour to share this. So that someone else doesn't have to go through all that we did.
Not to feel unsure of what is going on with their body.
So yeah. I had another period. And it is completely natural.
