Named after the costumed vigilante, Spider-Man is the pet cat of Teo Álvarez, living with his owner at Teo's Bodega.
During a break-in, he was kidnapped by one of Kingpin's henchmen and taken to a nearby power station.
He was promptly rescued by Spider-Man II after Miles Morales spotted Teo's request on the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man app.
Following the death of the Tinkerer, Teo called Spider-Man to share that his feline namesake had taken a liking to crime-fighting. With Teo's blessing, Morales agreed to take him out on patrols as Spider-Cat, even giving him his own little mask to protect his identity.
